Strengths and limits

What stands out

Country reporting and a separate published 20% referral offer.

Things to consider

Social, messaging and adult sources are restricted; payment timing needs account confirmation.

Our review

At a glance

  • Income : Eligible short-link traffic; country and duplicate visits affect remuneration.
  • Threshold : Published $10 minimum; payment must be requested.
  • Referral plan : Public homepage advertises 20% of referred-user revenue for life, subject to terms.

AdFocus, branded AdFoc.us, turns eligible visits to shortened links into advertising income. We would consider it for a deliberate resource-sharing model, not as a replacement for every ordinary link on a website. The most important part of this offer is its traffic policy. The public terms exclude several sources people commonly associate with link sharing, including social media and instant messaging.

Read the source rules before creating a link

A short-link model adds an advertising step before the destination. For a useful file or resource, a visitor may choose that path. But AdFocus’s terms restrict where traffic can originate. They prohibit social-media and instant-messaging traffic, adult placements, and various purchased or automated sources. A generic recommendation to post these links everywhere would therefore be misleading.

We would establish that the intended website and placements are accepted before building a publishing routine around them. The source must be verifiable and visitors must choose the link themselves. Asking people to click only to create earnings, disguising the destination, or producing your own automated clicks is not a legitimate shortcut to a balance.

Country rates do not price every click equally

The FAQ describes country-based remuneration and different treatment of duplicate IP visits. Headline maximum rates do not forecast a mixed audience’s result. For evaluation, count eligible visits and actual income over the same period. A large raw click count may include repeated users or activity that does not receive the same remuneration.

Hypothetical example: $12 earned from 6,000 eligible visits would represent $2 per thousand eligible visits. If only half of 12,000 raw clicks qualify for that comparison, multiplying the raw count by the same rate would overstate revenue. These numbers explain the denominator; they are not published AdFocus rates or our payment results.

Our view on the payment and referral offer

The public site advertises a $10 threshold and payments on request. Its FAQ and older terms describe timing differently, so we would confirm the live Payment History process rather than promise an exact arrival day. The referral offer is separate: at the published 20% rate, an eligible referred user earning $100 would generate $20, subject to the agreement.

Compared with Linkvertise, the allowed source rules deserve particular attention. We would consider AdFocus only when the resource and the traffic source fit those restrictions. For publishers wanting to monetize normal page visits instead, a site-inventory network is a different business model. The extra access step needs an editorial reason, not just an attractive maximum rate.
